Mt. Iwo, Hokkaido

Mt. Iwo, Hokkaido

This is an original signed watercolor painting on heavyweight Arches cotton. It is painted using mineral pigments. Price includes framing, options below.

Mt. Iwo (Io) is in Hokkaido, the northern most island of Japan. The name means “Sulfur”, and it has been mined for this mineral in the past. In 2018 it erupted for the first time in 250 years, and then went quiet once more.. this picture is of that event, with light from a sunset reflecting off of the smokey billows.

Beautiful wood frames include UV resistant plexi-glass and museum quality mat-board. Comes with all hanging accessories. Select “Add to Cart” and a pop-up will ask you to choose your finish color- white, birch, walnut and black (see gallery images for reference).
