This is an original watercolor painting on heavyweight Arches cotton. It is painted using mineral pigments. Framing options below.
Obsidian is the first resource humanity made use of, industrialized, and constructed tools from- it represents our long and collective history of progress and innovation. Mahogany obsidian is a beautiful type- the reddish brown colors come from inclusions of either hematite or magnetite. This specimen has so much that it’s left with only speckles of black. Obsidian is a glassy “mineral-like” granite or rhyolite, which fractures into conchoidal shapes.
Wood frame options- this painting is sold unframed, but if you’d like to have it framed I now offer a discounted $80 framing price for originals, which includes special UV resistant plexi-glass and museum quality mat-board.
